ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Rodel E. Aligan, O.P. is a professor of Moral Theology and Bioethics in the Faculty of Sacred Theology, UST Graduate School and the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Santo Tomas. He is a Doctor of Sacred Theology aside from obtaining an M.A. in Higher Religious Studies and a degree in Philosophy.
He had been a Deputy Director of the Regional Science Teaching Center (RSTC, DOST-SEI) while in Aquinas University: an acting Ecclesiastical Adviser of the Catholic Physician’s Guild of the Philippines (CPGP) and had consistently been involved in Bioethical Seminars conducted by CPGP and the UST Medical Association Alumni (USTMAA) in the different parts of the country.
He is also the Editor of Unitas, Academia and a regular contributor in the publications of the University. He was formerly the Director of the UST Publishing House. Currently, he is the Secretary General of UST and the First Year Coordinator of Bioethics in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery.
